Two-and-a-half years ago, I stopped eating industrial meat. I also stopped watching TV. Two or three years of processing and mental preperation was behind those decision.
For many people, it would have been a very easy decision, but it wasn’t so for me. Just a few years ago, I was completely convinced that stop eating meat and watch TV was almost physical impossible to me – it wasn’t even an issue.
But when I had used the time I needed to change my attitude and way of thinking, it was surprisingly easy to go through with it. I found out that it was all about changing a habit. It was all a matter of habit.
Performing those changes thus gave me a revelation. I discovered that it is actually possible to change. Whether it’s habit, diet, environmental efforts or anything else - it is all possible. I am in control of how I want my life to be.
Knowing this gave me a great sense of freedom, but at the same time, also a great sense of responsibility. I can no longer sit down and say: “No, that’s just the way I am. There is nothing I can do about it.” Because I can.
